The government’s consultation on bathing water regulations closes this Monday, 23 December, and it is vital that our voices are heard.
Bathing waters refer to areas of our waterways which are heavily used for recreational activities, and are actively monitored for harmful bacteria, such as E. Coli. Cleaner and safer rivers directly result in better conditions for rowing, reduced health risks, and improved ecosystems.
This consultation gives our community a unique opportunity to advocate for higher water quality standards, and to hold polluters accountable, ensuring the waterways we love are protected for both sport, and nature.
How You Can Help!
Completing the consultation- it doesn’t take long, just 15–30 minutes. River Action have created a simple guide to assist you with responses for the online survey- both can be found linked below.
Sharing with Others- The deadline for submissions is fast approaching, and our input, as a major group in the UK’s river users, is essential to create meaningful change.
