Laura Simon

Laura Simon has 25+ years of experience in the coxswain’s seat as both a collegiate, member of the national team training center, as a coach and selector of coxswains.  Laura is a co-author of  ​The Coxswain’s Encyclopedia and the U19 audio reviewer for coxswains hoping to get an invitation to the USA’s U19 summer rowing camps.

Laura is an expert in coaching coxswains and helping coaches coach their coxswains better.  Given Laura’s background in collegiate coaching, she also sheds a unique light on the complex recruiting process for the coxswain’s seat.  Coxswains & coaches:  come learn from someone coaching on a daily basis.


Stephen Feeney

Stephen Feeney is the founder of Invictus International which runs training programmes to give the mental tools needed to develop athletes and teams to a world-class level and maintain consistency. Stephen started out as an International athlete at the age of 21, he steadily climbed the ranks winning several world championship medals and joined the Olympic Squad in 2009 before he retired from injury in 2011 at the age of 26. During his time running Invictus, Stephen has worked with athletes from Oxford University, the British National Squad, St. Paul’s School, Lady Eleanor Holles and many more.


Matthew Anthis

Matthew Anthis holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and is currently undertaking a Masters in Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne. He is a Rowing Australia Preferred Provider and a former Rowing Coach giving him a unique understanding of dealing with an injury from both the rower’s and coaches’ perspective.

Matthew is the Director at The Rowing Physio, a one of a kind physiotherapy clinic with a special interest in treating rowers.

Matthew is very passionate about rowing – including the community and competitive nature of the sport. Matthew has himself rowed for both school and club. His empathy for those who are unable to row due to injury and his interest in rehabilitation began when he suffered a back injury during his own rowing involvement. Apart from operating premises in Rozelle, Matthew is the Head Physiotherapist at Newington College where he works mainly with the senior rugby, rowing and athletics squads.


Fatsculler

Dan Spring, better known by his Twitter handle Fatsculler, is a veteran rowing commentator on both the domestic and International circuits. Famed for his unrivalled knowledge base, Dan has become one of the most influential voices in the rowing world.


Ian Randall

Ian is a Design and Art Teacher and developer of the Randall foil. He has rowed since the age of ten and has experienced the transition of equipment from wood to carbon fibre. Ian is passionate about design and to see our sport progress through innovation.


Ben Lewis

Ben Lewis — Thames Rowing Club

Ben took up rowing at St. Edward’s, Oxford, in the early 90’s due a strong aversion to cricket. Initially ,he wasn’t overly enamored by rowing either, until he won his first race – and he is still here almost 30 years later! After Teddies, Ben spent time at Oxford Brookes before hopping the pond to coach in the USA for two years alongside stints at Leander, Molesey and latterly Thames RC, where he led the club to multiple Henley Royal Regatta victories.
