JRN are delighted to announce Filippi Boats as the exclusive boat-building partner on all related digital and social platforms. The agreement will initially span 12 months and will focus on expanding Filippi’s reach across English-speaking markets, including continental Europe, the USA and the UK.
Founded in 1980 by Lido Filippi, Filippi Boats are an internationally-renowned manufacturer of high-specification rowing shells. The company’s boatyard, based in Donoratico, Italy, employs over 60 people and distributes over 1000 boats per year. Across the previous two decades, Filippi boats have collected over 400 medals at World Rowing Championships and Olympic Games.
Tom Morgan, Founder of JRN, commented: “We’re delighted to align JRN with a brand that has become the gold standard in rowing over the past 20 years. Filippi have got some incredibly exciting projects in the pipeline and are already working with some amazing customers and we’re excited to tell those stories on a global basis”.
The timing of this partnership is opportune, as Filippi prepare to enter into the public consciousness once again via The 2022 Gemini Boat Race. Cambridge University Boat Club’s women’s Blue Boat will be racing in a carbon reverse-wing F42 8+ this weekend, as they look to retain the title they won last year in Ely. 2022 marks The Boat Race’s return to the Championship course for the first time since 2019 and the Light Blue’s female Blue Boat are red-hot favourites; their crew contains Olympic Champion and New Zealand international Grace Prendergast and is stroked by British lightweight Imogen Grant. Filippi are proud to be the chosen provider for Cambridge’s women and look forward to watching the athletes give the best possible account of themselves this Sunday.
