Many of these athletes raced at EIDs last weekend, some even with GB vests already at hand. There were close margins between some of these rowers last weekend, whoever came out on bottom will be aiming to reverse this result.
The top half of the finishing order is likely to be dominated by the Tideway Scullers and Molesey BC rowers. Luarence Joss won the singles at EIDs last weekend, and I predict he will win on Saturday. In second place should be Cameron Spurling, who raced this summer in the Coupe 8+, which won bronze and gold. The only reason I imagine he did not race at trials is because he is a one year trialist. Close behind him in third and fourth will be Theo Darlow and Michael Dalton, who finished 5th and 6th last weekend, with only three tenths separating them. It is too close to call who will perform better this weekend.
Other notable mentions are Hampton’s Tom Cross, who finished in the unlucky position 13 at EIDs, Lea’s Will Aitken (25th), and Felix Warren of Molesey BC.
Prediction:
Joss TSS
Spurling MBC
Darlow/Dalton MBC
Cross HAM
Aitken LEA
