Henley 4s and 8s head- w/j154+
As we are finally back into the swing of head-race season approaching the final national head race events, clubs are wanting to test potential crews for these upcoming events. Withing the j15 4s field no boats have been entered and a very limited number of entries on the girls side, however despite there only being 3 entries these boats belong to 3 of the highest performing boat clubs in the country so it will be interesting how these young rowers will fair against each other, that will undoubtedly one day be lined ap along major national finals together.
Henley RC-
Henley has been known for years now to produce some of the most high performing athletes in the uk and been the forefront for junior girls rowing for the last few years in sweep and scull, this weekend it will be interesting to see how these wj15 sweepers take the race up against some tight competition. Being from a club with the atmosphere like Henley has I’m sure they will live up to all the girls of previous years and will be interesting to see how they place amongst the other boats as well as having a point to prove along their own stretch they will be there to win.
Headington school BC-
Headington is known as one of the finest girls rowing schools producing also a phenomenal amount of successful athletes, after the senior girls won Henley last summer these girls have a huge amount of inspiration within their own boat club so will have a lot of pride which will lead them this weekend to be very competitive with these other top class crews. I think as much as these girls have pressure to perform they will race well and give the others a run for their money.
Surbiton high school BC-
Surbiton as well as Henley and Headington is a rowing powerhouse, alongside Headington the Surbiton eight (filled largely with j16 athletes) also got to the Henley final last summer so these gurls have the privilege in of training in an environment full of success, it is more than likely they will continue to follow these footsteps and put in a strong performance this weekend.
Predictions-
Overall I cannot see one boat to be an underdog or more standout than another so I think the racing this weekend will be extremely close and impossible to call a winner.
