This year’s Henley Fours and Eights Head sees a very limited field of entries with just 3 in the women’s category and none in the men’s. This 3000m course runs along the famous Henley Royal Regatta course.
Surbiton High School Boat Club
Based in Surrey and under the watchful eye of Stewart Walker this Surbiton crew looks to be a well drilled four, having previous success at in The Junior Women’s Eight reaching the final in an enthralling race against Headington who also have a four entered. Surbiton had a successful day racing at Hampton Fours and Eights head in which they won the W Jun 2x and came third W Jun 4x, they’ll be coming to continue this strong form as attention turns to Schools’ Head next month.
Headington School Boat Club
Favourites for the win on Saturday Headington I’m sure will be full of confidence and hope that they can replicate there Henley final from back in August, beating Surbiton. Headington regularly produce high quality crews and I firmly believe this will be no different. I would back this crew to take first place.
Lymington Amateur Rowing Club
Not much is known about the Lymington crew, certainly a dark horse in this 3-way race, but never rule anybody out but I would be very surprised if they could challenge the likes of Surbiton and Headington.
Interestingly there have been no entries into the men’s J18 Fours,
Predictions
I would put my money on Headington taking the win but Surbiton will be hot on their heels and Lymington coming in third
