Junior Rowing News are teaming up with the Henley Royal Regatta press office to supply volunteers for the press and media operation.
Widely regarded as the world’s pre-eminent river regatta, HRR is one of the biggest social and sporting events of the year. Last year’s volunteers, who joined the press team for the regatta week, were given the chance to draft website content, network with some of the world’s leading sports press, meet and interview the top characters at the regatta and work alongside companies like BT Sport and Sunset & Vine.
This year, we are looking for volunteers to help run the press and media operation alongside agency provider Sine Qua Non. Volunteers will be required onsite in Henley from July 1st to July 7th (Monday to Sunday). Please note that accommodation and travel costs cannot be covered but lunch will be provided each day whilst onsite.
In return, volunteers will be part of a fast-paced, dynamic team working towards delivering an international press operation. For anyone seeking a career in journalism, PR, communications or marketing, this is an invaluable opportunity to gain experience. Rowing knowledge and/or experience of HRR would be an advantage but is not mandatory.
If you’d like to be a part of Henley Royal Regatta 2019, please email juniorrowingwordpress@gmail.com with availability and a short statement on why you’d like to be a part of the 2019 regatta and we will forward this on to the relevant parties. If you require any further information, please include this in your email and we will respond as soon as possible.
