Not for the first time this season, Henley Rowing Club achieved a 100% win record by triumphing in all 3 of the junior events they entered. At Henley Women’s Regatta, they won the J164x, J4+ and J164+. This is a remarkable result, emphasised by the fact that the J4+ and J164x have won the historic triple this year [Schools Head, National Schools, Henley Women’s Regatta].
Steve Thompson, junior team manager at Henley RC, said that they believed ‘this was a first for HRC and possibly for any other club too’. He also spoke of his delight at the result and these crews will now be looking forward to Henley Royal, where they’ve entered two crews into the Diamond Jubilee Challenge Cup.
I thought it was worth putting up a post to report this; winning a double triple is no mean feat and Henley would have won the VL for HWR had there been such a thing!
