The Windsor Boys School “A” vs Leander Club
Both crews looking very smart while waiting for the race to start. And we’re off, Leander getting into a half a boat length lead off the start, and we sure do have an amazing race upon us. Leander still looking very slick and powerful but they need to watch out for the Windsor charge. And here it is, the Windsor charge is here and both crews have turned level. Both of these crews are keeping level for a significant amount of time now, this is a race that will hold memories. The all J17 crew in green start to increase their rating and speed and start to edge out in front of the boys in pink. Windsor take the win of semi-finals day, in an impressive race to remember.
Tideway Scullers School “A” vs Lea Rowing Club
Both crews get off to an absolutely blistering pace. Lea nearly steering into Tideways course but manage to steer back on track. Past Temple island Tideway Scullers have the slightest lead but only by a small margin. As both crews settle into their rhythm Tideway slowly start to edge out in front. Another steering error by both crews with Lea catching a slight crab but manage to recover extremely well. A bit after that error from the Lea, Tideway takes the chance and power on and extend that impressive lead from the Lea. Tideway take a powerful win, with Lea not far off them when they cross the line.
Finals Preview:
Tideway Scullers School “A” vs Windsor Boys School “A”
We’re finally here, Henley Royal Regatta finals day. These 2 crews have had a fairly easy and tough way into the final. With both of these crews being so evenly matched, we are in for an exciting race for the Fawley Challenge Cup tomorrow. This season these 2 Quads have been going back and forth with each other, with Tideway getting the win at National Schools’ and Windsor getting the win at Brit Champs. What we’ve seen this week has been impressive, this race tomorrow will probably be more than impressive. I could see this going to the wire.
Prediction:
Watching every race of the Fawley from this week, I think that this race will be very very close with some bowball to bowball racing. Overall I think Tideway will take the win in the Fawley this year as the J17s from Windsor may have not enough racing experience to win on the Henley stretch.
