Skibbereen Head of the River 2024 – Women’s Junior 18 Singles Preview

Skibbereen

With four girls entered into the sculling category for Skibbereen, they are clearly aiming for the win this Saturday. Niamh O’Donovan, Eveanna Goulding, Alannah Keane and Orla Seymour will be battling it out for victory and although these girls have not been seen in the single before, their track record is excellent elsewhere. Seymour and Keane, featured in the women’s Junior 18 eight that came fourth in July, are back this season and pushing for the podium.

Lee Valley

Lee Valley’s Genny O’Sullivan will also compete for gold in Skibbereen on Saturday. After participating in this category at the Irish Championships, Genny is returning for her second year in the Junior 18 category, stronger than ever with more grit and determination.

Workman’s

Aoibhinn Coffey from Workman’s Boat Club will return for another year in this category, aiming for victory in the highly competitive women’s scull category.

Prediction

In conclusion, I think that Lee Valleys Genny O’Sullivan may just take the win on this one as she has proven to have the most experience in the single sculls. She will be closely followed by Workman’s Coffey and the Skibbereen girls.
