St. Neots Small Boats Head 2016 – WJ16 2x

There are eight boats entered into this division which should make for an interesting race. There aren’t notable achievements for many of the crews, but as it is the start of the school year it will be interesting to see whether we have any crews that could become more noticeable. All of the boats seem to be on a pretty level playing field as none of them have had any big wins, leaving the medal open for all of the crews to have a chance to win!

Bedford Modern school have a double entered which has at least one of the Ziaullah twins in. Both of the girls have had some good achievements so whichever one it turns out to be it is likely that they will put in a good performance. Both twins competed in the same boats at National Schools’ Regatta and saw some good times although they were not able to get a win. This double is going to be a fierce competitor this weekend.

Nottingham and Union RC placed very highly at National Schools Regatta, coming third in the B final in a quad. Megan Thomas was part of this boat which had some very respectable wins last season so it will be interesting to see how she performs in a double on Sunday. Having been quite consistent all through last season in their quad I think that this double should be able to take home the win this Sunday.

Deben RC have two crews entered which both appear to have quite a lot of racing experience, both crews have got some reasonable times at some smaller races but have had no wins.

Peterborough City RC have one double entered and being quite a successful club we should see quite a good performance from these two girls. Peterborough’s junior squad have had quite a few good results including some at national level so I expect that we will see a good time from this boat.

The other entries are from Leicester RC who have entered two doubles and Bedford Girls School RC. Although I can’t find any achievements for these boats it is likely that they will still put in a good race and come out with a good time.

I’m looking forward to see the results of this division as I believe that it will be an interesting race and we will see some strong competitors. I think that Nottingham and Union RC will win this Sunday but it is likely to be quite a challenge for them as there will be some fierce competition.
