JRN are delighted to announce that Marlow Rowing Club are our Club Crew of the Year.
In a year heavily disrupted by weather and cancellations, Marlow found rhythm right when it mattered to win the Wyfold Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta for the first time in the club’s history. In a dramatic race with Thames, the locals were led for much of the course before mounting a devastating final sprint to overcome their opponents in the closing metres. It was a historic day all round for Marlow, who also had two junior boats in respective sculling finals.
Jamie Axon, Coach at Marlow, said: “For me, it was a brilliant end to a great HRR and season, not just for the Wyfold crew, but the senior men’s squad as a whole. It summed up how well the squad managed to stay motivated and keep pushing on through such a disrupted winter with so little rowing and racing.“
