After a long Summer of international success and well-earned rest for junior rowers around the country, the time has come to get back in the saddle and usher in the new season. With this comes a significant amount of change to Junior Rowing News.
You’ll probably notice that the site looks slightly different after its maintenance period, and with this new appearance comes a host of new content that will be submitted throughout the year. As well as previews of major races throughout the year, we will offer reviews of each of these events, as well as a dedicated monthly piece – the ‘crew of the month’ – which will look in depth at the success of a particular school or club crew in the Junior circuit. News from around the Junior Rowing world will also be published on the site, as well as club profiles and miscellaneous articles. In short, we are building Junior Rowing News into the definitive hub for all things junior rowing in the UK.
The founder of the original site, Tom Morgan, has moved onto bigger and better things – he is now the editor at ROW360 – and we wish him the best of luck. I have taken over the editorial role, and I hope to fill Tom’s shoes as well as I can.
So, welcome to all our dedicated and new readers alike. I hope that you continue to enjoy the detailed articles that our hard-working writers produce, and to all junior rowers out there, good luck with the season ahead. Junior rowing has never been stronger in the UK, and it’s an exciting time to be a part of such a wonderful sport.
