Wycliffe head is another one of those lesser know regional races on the calendar that still attracts a large number crews from all around the country and a lot of the categories this year are full of crews itching to get racing, and with the question of racing still in the air due to the introduction of the new virus variant, questions are being raised over will there be any racing in the near future, so crews will be eager to get on the water
Wallingford Rowing Club – WRC (A) – K Green – (168), WRC (B) – J Seymour – (169)
Wallingford Rowing Club is a relativity successful rowing club within junior circles and has always done well within regional races. Tt wouldn’t be unexpected to see these crews do very well in this race, especially since they will be some inter club rivalry going on between the crews, both jostling for bragging rights, with these two crews placing in high in the final standings.
Queen’s Park High School – HER X Chapman – (170):
With Queen’s Park High school travelling a long way in order to participate within this race, and little being know previously in terms of results, they may be sending a message that they have the confidence to turn up and participate, and to get a result out of the weekends racing. It will be interesting to see how well these crews do and have an opportunity to place high in the standings.
Other Crews:
All of the other crews participating are all crews that we haven’t seen in circles before, with two crews coming from the Worcester area, with: The King’s School, Worcester – KSW N Dolan – (172), Royal Grammar School – WRG R Hobson – (173), these crews will be fighting each other down to the line, with their cross town rivalry playing into both crews hands, pushing each other down the course.
My Predictions are:
- Wallingford Rowing Club – WRC (A) K Green – (168)
- Wallingford Rowing Club – WRC (B) – J Seymour – (169)
- The Kings School, Worcester – KSW – N Dolan – (172)
