Wycliffe Small Boats Head 2021- WJ16 2x

Henley Rowing Club

Henley entered 4 different crews this year, ranked A to D. There are strong performers across this range of crews, recognisable from their names being stand out in other competitions such as JSR in which their A crew came first overall against 17 crews in the quad. However Henley’s A boat for this competition, Macartney, has won numerous other competitions, one of which was Stains regatta in July in which the double rowed up into the WJ16 category whilst being J15s at the time and won against Weybridge Rowing Club. Hopefully the Henley crews will put in their best foot and give a good race against the other crews and their teammates!

Wycliffe Junior Rowing Club

We have seen top performing boats come out of Wycliffe in the past and they perform well especially in the older years. Typically their highest achieving crew is the quad so it should be interesting to find out how they perform in the double, especially as there is little information on this crew under the name of E.Ahmed. Having access to such a great stretch of river however should allow them to use their experience of long distance rowing to their best ability on Saturday.

The Kings School Worcester Boat club

This particular school has produced many strong rowers, especially since they have access to one of the best stretches of river in the country making it perfect for practicing long distance sculling completely uninterrupted. On top of this, although there is no stand out information on this crew, they regularly attend top rowing events in the country as a club and are sure to put in a great performance!

Prediction

Amongst the other crews and clubs rowing at Wycliffe Small Boats head  are Queens Park Highschool, Monmouth Comprehensive School Boat Club, Royal Grammar School Worcester and Avon County Rowing Club. There seems to be little information upon their crews but I’m sure they will all bring their best to the race this Saturday! My prediction is that we will see a Henley Crew, most likely their A crew, place first. Then Wycliffe’s A crew will take second place with The Kings School Worcester finishing in third place
