Domestic Rowing:
“Not much has been changing in the Government guidance recently but we’re still here to help support you and your club“
British Rowing
It’s been a quiet week in the rowing world, with the only faint whispers of national hope being beaten by an onslaught of anti-aspiration media, intent on only delivering the worst news the nation has to offer.
British Rowing has re-affirmed their commitment to supporting clubs and grassroots rowing through the pandemic, with a statement that highlighted the fiscal assistance packages on offer, most notably the Club Emergency Fund. Full information on the nature of support available, as well as how to access it, can be found on the British Rowing website.
Further Adventurer Series challenges have also been announced to journey participants through Nepal, Singapore, Japan and Great Britain, with precise details to follow.
International Rowing:
“We weren’t sure what to expect, but it’s encouraging during these difficult times to see such a good response.”
Chris Perry, World Rowing
In preparation for the World Rowing Indoor Championships 2021, the fourth continental qualification event saw athletes from across Asia compete in a bid to progress to the final round of the competition. World Rowing’s Chris Perry, World Rowing Consultant and Technical Adviser told World Rowing, “Kuwait and Saudi Arabia both have put forth big entries and Saudia Arabia ran their own indoor championships last year. It is a reflection of their ambition to get more involved in the sport.”
